CONFERENCE LOCATION
Władysławowo a picturesque town placed at the beginning of the 34-kilometre-long Hel
peninsula. It separates the Baltic See from the small see, called the Gulf of Puck. Władysławowo
has been mentioned for the first time in 1284 as "Velaves" what means a Great Village. The today's
name of the town comes from an important maritime fortress build by Władysław the 4-th, the Polish
King, in a village Chałupy situated nearby. The contemporary town of Władysławowo is situated
around a small fisherman harbour. Lying on the slope of the hills of Kępa Swarzewska, the town is
also a great sport and recreation centre. There are plenty of hostels and pensions in it. One of
the most important is the Olympic Game Training Centre in Cetniewo,
the west part of Władysławowo where the coming Conference is taking place.
